Crisis Doesn't Wait: Provide Food and Water Now
From Hunger To Hope
Fundraising Story
As we enter Ramadan, I wanted to take a moment to share something really special with you. This year, I’ve chosen to fundraise for SWAN Southern Women’s Aid Network. a charity run by women, for women and families in desperate need.
I chose SWAN because they don’t just provide aid they bring hope. They work tirelessly to ensure women and children especially those facing war, displacement, and hardship—have access to food, clean water, and shelter. Their work spans from Gaza, Syria, Yemen, and Afghanistan to right here in the UK, where they support domestic violence survivors and struggling families.
Why SWAN?
There are countless charities out there, but SWAN stands out because:
✨ They are led by women who truly understand the struggles of women in crisis.
✨ They focus on dignity - ensuring those in need don’t just survive, but feel supported, valued, and empowered.
✨ Every penny makes an impact - whether it’s a hot meal for a fasting mother or a food pack for a displaced family. They have a 100% Donation policy when donated to a specific project and also accept zakah.
Real People, Real Impact
SWAN isn’t just about numbers. They are about real stories, like Alma’s:
"When our home was bombed, Alma and I were buried under rubble for 24 hours. It’s a miracle we survived." – Alma’s mother
Alma and her mother lost everything. With no roof over their heads, no access to clean water, and barely any food, Alma suffered from malnutrition and bowed legs due to calcium deficiency. SWAN stepped in. Through their family grant program, Alma’s mother was able to buy food, medicine, and hygiene essentials.
"No words can express our gratitude. I pray for everyone at SWAN for allowing us to eat and have the basics. It helps us so much, and it helps my mental state."
And then there’s Amina; a single mother in London who fled an abusive home with her children. With nowhere to go, she relied on SWAN’s food bank and emergency relief to feed her family. SWAN didn’t just hand her food and send her away; they helped her regain stability, confidence, and independence
.
These stories are why I’m fundraising for SWAN. There are countless stories that
How You Can Help - 100% Donation Policy to Specified Projects
Every single donation, no matter how small, makes a difference:
Ramadan is the month of generosity, and this is our chance to make a real impact. The Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) said:
"The best charity is that given in Ramadan." (Tirmidhi)
Please, if you can, donate whatever you’re able to—even £1 can go a long way. If you’re unable to give, simply sharing this message with others would mean the world to me.
May Allah (SWT) bless you for your generosity and multiply your rewards in this sacred month. Let’s make this Ramadan truly count together.
Thank you so much
