International Appeals
Feeding Hope. Nurting Dreams in the UK and Across The Globe
When SWAN was founded by Saiqa Ali BEM, it was built on a simple but powerful mission: to support people in need, both here in the UK and around the world. What began with a food bank in South London soon grew into a wider network of support. Recognising the increasing need within local communities, SWAN established its first soup kitchen, followed by a second and then a third. Sadly, as the cost of living and financial hardship continue to affect families and individuals, these services have become more necessary than ever. But SWAN’s commitment to helping others has never stopped at the UK’s borders. Across the world, millions of people are facing the devastating consequences of conflict, displacement, poverty, homelessness and natural disasters. Through trusted partnerships and local teams, SWAN works to reach vulnerable communities with practical support that can make an immediate and lasting difference. Our international appeals go beyond responding to urgent need. We provide food and essential aid to families struggling to survive, support the repair and renovation of unsafe and damaged homes, and invest in empowerment projects that give people the tools and opportunities to rebuild their lives with greater independence. From emergency relief to long-term development, our aim is not simply to provide help for today, but to create opportunities for a more secure tomorrow. As needs change, we continue to listen, respond and find new ways to help — ensuring your support reaches communities where it can make a meaningful difference.
