Fundraising Story
The Gaza Strip is currently facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, with over 90% of its population experiencing acute food insecurity. The ongoing conflict has led to the destruction of vital infrastructure, including bakeries, and has severely disrupted food supply chains. As a result, more than 2 million people are dependent on food assistance, with over 60,000 children requiring immediate treatment for acute malnutrition. In response to this dire situation, SWAN has partnered with the Al Anqaa Association in Gaza to launch an emergency initiative aimed at providing daily bread to displaced families during the holy month of Ramadan. Bread is a staple in the Gazan diet, yet the conflict has led to severe shortages, exacerbating the hunger crisis.
Our Objectives:
Daily Bread Distribution: Operate a bakery equipped with traditional ovens to produce and distribute fresh bread to 30 shelters across North Gaza, targeting 150,000 displaced individuals, including vulnerable groups such as children, the elderly, and women.
Funding Requirements:
To sustain this critical operation throughout Ramadan, we aim to raise $24,100, covering:

❖ Target beneficiaries :Displaced people in North Gaza in shelters and refuge centers .
The United Nations has highlighted the escalating risk of famine in Gaza, with projections indicating that famine could occur anytime between mid-March and May 2024 if immediate action is not taken.
The recent ceasefire offers a narrow window of opportunity to deliver essential aid and prevent further deterioration of the humanitarian situation. We urge individuals, organizations, and governments to support this life-saving initiative. Your contribution will directly impact the lives of thousands, providing them with the most basic human necessity: food.
Together, we can bridge the gap between your compassion and their survival.
