*Support Refugee Children’s Islamic Education Programme in Greece*
SWAN first began its international operations in Greece, providing crucial support to refugees fleeing war and persecution. Now, we are reviving this work to save a madrassa in Northern Greece that has been a beacon of hope for refugee children—one that our CEO Saiqa Ali has personally visited multiple times.
For children who have been displaced by war and forced into foreign lands, the struggle is not just about survival—it is also about holding onto their Islamic identity and connection to the Holy Quran. This humble yet vital programme helps these young refugees, many of whom have endured unimaginable hardship, to memorise the Quran and maintain their spiritual and cultural roots.
The madrassa currently serves children who have been granted asylum after fleeing wars in Syria, Palestine, Afghanistan, and other conflict-affected regions. However, it is struggling to stay open due to financial constraints. Without urgent support, these children risk losing access to essential Islamic education and a safe space for learning.
By contributing to this appeal, you are not just funding a school—you are investing in the future of young refugees, preserving their faith, and ensuring they have a place where they feel connected, empowered, and valued.
